2013 OLMC Christmas Program

We had a great time last night at the boys' Christmas Program at school.  We had a cute little shepherd boy and Noah had a great time singing with his classmates.  The boys' babysitter, Bethany, joined us as well.  Chris also got a picture with his girlfriend Sidnee.  OOOOoooooo!

Happy 6th Birthday Christopher!

It was 6 years ago today that our handsome first born came into our world.  He is growing up to be a wonderful boy.  He's our soccer star!

We had a good time at the pumpkin patch. I'm glad we finally found some time to make it out there as a family.  Noah really got into it this year.  He's growing up!

Alcoholics and Parents

Warning!  This is gross but I have to share...if only to document for Noah's future embarrassment!  I have heard those who take care of alcoholics are similar to a parent of a young child. It was no truer than this morning when I went into the bathroom and found, with blurry morning vision, what might look like a crime-scene. As my eye began to clear, I realized there had not been a murder and what I was seeing was not blood but fecal-matter!  I had to get all CSI to figure it all out. There was a trail coming from the toilet leading to the door.  That's right, for the toilet not to! From what I can gather, I would say Noah went to the bathroom sometime late and did his business in the toilet as the rim was smeared with it. He got off the toilet and was not done so he must have dropped one on the floor, subsequently stepping in it, smearing and tracking it all across the floor. After cleaning all that up and finally getting to do what I came to do, there is the haunting realization of what awaits me on my child in the other room.  Ugh! Do they make a 12 step program for toddlers?!

Wood Badge C3-312-13-2 part 1

Bobbie attended her first session of Wood Badge, and advanced adult training course.  She is a member of the "Founder's Favorite Faithful Foxes!"  Their patrol yell is "Foxes are foxy! Ooooh Yeah!"  She had a great time.  Shawn went through Wood Badge in 1994 as a Magnificent 7 Bobwhite.  Over the next two weeks, Bobbie is the Patrol Leader and will have to help the patrol complete a number of tasks in time for their next and final training session.

Chris' First Game - Soccer Fall 2013

Christopher did a great job for his first game of the season.  They were dealt a loss but Chris scored both of his team's two goals in a 2-4 loss.  3 of the 4 goals went in under one goalie's shift.  He was more interested in playing in the net (literally) than guarding it.  Chris asked the coach if he could play goal, which the coach begrudgingly did.  One of our parents said, "Whelp, there will be no more scoring for either team now!"  Chris' soccer talent continues to impress us.  He is really becoming a heads-up player who never gives up on the play.  He was perfect in his first time in goal, stopping all shots. If he wasnt such a good scorer, goal might be a good home for him.

The Marion Soccer Complex is 3.2 miles from the Interstate 57 exchange. From Interstate 57 (Main Street Exit - 53), go east toward the town of Marion at the Interstate 57 - Main Street intersection. You will be heading East on West Main Street, which will eventually change into East Main Street. Continue to drive past the town's square, which you will have to veer right (half way around the square). You will continue to drive in the same direction as you have been driving, after you pass this town's square. Continue straight or east on E. Main Street. After 3.2 miles from the Interstate 57 exchange, you will see the Marion Soccer Complex on the right hand or south side of East Main Street. You will have to turn right on Valentine Lane, and again right on George Sims Road, which will take you to the parking lot of the Marion Soccer Complex.

Embarkation Day

We are packing our bags and getting ready to head to the boat.  The excitement REALLY kicked in when the boys saw the boat pull in to the harbor this morning.  Shawn made it down in time to catch it pulling into dock.  They were starving but had to go to the port to see the boat first.  We got to see them loading the boat with all of the food for our cruise.  It was very cool to watch and see all that happen and how much goes into all of it.  After we walked the length we went and had breakfast at Tim Hortons & Fatburger.  This maybe our last opportunity to post until we return.  I will make an attempt to post something in a couple of days when we get to port.  If not, you will have to wait for our return.

Christopher Graduates PreK

Christopher had his Pre-K graduation.  He was so excited, he ran up to get his certificate.  He loved all the time he spent with Miss Ashley.  Next fall he will be in Mrs. Burris' kindergarten class and Noah will be joining Chris at OLMC and will have Miss Ashley.
